This week’s auction reportedly drew a large number of applicants, far more than the usual participation seen in Haryana’s VIP-plate sales. The base price for the HR88 series numbers was Rs 50,000, but competitive bidding pushed the price into crore territory for the first time in the country.
Officials said the number’s appeal lay in its rare pattern — a sequence of eights, with even the letter ‘B’ visually resembling “8” in uppercase, making the plate appear as an unbroken run of 8s. Numerology enthusiasts and luxury-car buyers are known to aggressively chase such combinations, which are considered auspicious and high-status.

The record-breaking sale has further fuelled the craze for distinctive number plates in the state, which has seen soaring demand for VIP combinations in recent years.

Haryana conducts weekly online auctions for fancy numbers, with registrations opening on Fridays, bidding held early in the week, and final results announced every Wednesday. After the bidding closes, the successful bidder must deposit the full amount within five days and block the number for registration.

The auction, held through the official portal, drew 45 applicants; bidding began at Rs 50,000 and surged to a record high by the 5 pm deadline.

Several people also paid homage at CSMT, Cama and Albless Hospital and other locations which were targeted by the Pakistani terrorists

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday (November 26, 2025) paid floral tributes at the city police headquarters to those who made the ultimate sacrifice while fighting terrorists during the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.

 

Family members of the policemen who lost their lives during the terror attack also paid homage to the fallen heroes on the occasion.

Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and state minister Ashish Shelar also paid tributes at the martyrs’ memorial in the premises of the Police Commissioner’s Office in south Mumbai. Maharashtra Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti and other officials were also present.

The armed militants from the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) entered the city via the sea and carried out a series of coordinated attacks across multiple high-profile locations, including the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Oberoi Trident Hotel, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) railway station, and Nariman House.

As many as 166 people lost their lives and more than 300 were injured after 10 terrorists from Pakistan launched simultaneous attacks in several parts of Mumbai on November 26, 2008.

The attacks prompted global condemnation and led to significant changes in India’s counter-terrorism measures.

They also paid respects at “Prerana Sthal”, the statue of Assistant Sub Inspector Tukaram Ombale, who fought with terrorists with a lathi and was killed while catching the terrorist Ajmal Kasab at Girgaon Chowpatty.
In the evening, the National Security Guard (NSG) has organised a commemorative “Never ever” memorial and pledge gathering at Gateway of India, in which family members of the victims will also participate along with the citizens of Mumbai.
Several people also paid homage at CSMT, Cama and Albless Hospital and other locations which were targeted by the Pakistani terrorists.

A total of five persons were travelling in an Innova car from Belagavi to Bidar to attend a relative’s wedding ceremony.

Car accident on Jewargi bypass road: Three people including former BESCOM MD Mahantesh Bilagi have died.

Kalaburagi: The senior IAS officer and Karnataka State Minerals Corporation Limited (KSMCL) Managing Director Mahantesh Bilagi (50) is dead as the car, in which he was travelling overturned near Gaunalli Cross in Jewargi taluk on Tuesday.

The police officials said that Mahantesh Bilagi died soon after being admitted to the hospital. A case is registered at Jewargi Police Station.

  1. ಮೊದಲನೆಯದಾಗಿ NWKRTC ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆ 2025 ಅನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯು ಅರ್ಹತಾ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುತ್ತಾರೆಯೇ ಎಂದು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ (ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಲಿಂಕ್ ಅನ್ನು ಕೆಳಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ).

ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ, ಅಪಘಾತದ ಹಿಂದಿನ ನಿಖರವಾದ ಕಾರಣ ತನಿಖೆಯ ನಂತರ ತಿಳಿಯಲಿದೆ. ದುರಂತದ ಕಾರಣವನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಹಿಡಿಯಲು IAF ತನಿಖಾ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದೆ.


ಹಿಮಾಚಲ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಕಾಂಗ್ರಾ ನಿವಾಸಿ ವಿಂಗ್ ಕಮಾಂಡರ್ ಸ್ಯಾಲ್ (37) ಅವರ ಅಂತ್ಯಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಭಾನುವಾರ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಅವರ ಪತ್ನಿ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ವಿಂಗ್ ಕಮಾಂಡರ್. ದಂಪತಿಗೆ ಏಳು ವರ್ಷದ ಮಗಳಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.




49-52 ಸೆಕೆಂಡುಗಳ ಸಮಯ ಮುದ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ವಿಮಾನವು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉರಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ, ಪ್ಯಾರಾಚೂಟ್‌ನಂತಹ ವಸ್ತುವೊಂದು ಗೋಚರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಪೈಲಟ್ ಹೊರಹೋಗಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದರು, ಆದರೆ ಅದು ತುಂಬಾ ತಡವಾಗಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಇದು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಪೈಲಟ್ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣವನ್ನು ಮರಳಿ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಮತ್ತು ವಿಮಾನವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇದು ಸಂಭವಿಸಿರಬಹುದು.


ವಿಮಾನ ಪತನಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಕಾರಣವೇನು?


ಅಪಘಾತಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಖರವಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಇನ್ನೂ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ತಜ್ಞ ಕ್ಯಾಪ್ಟನ್ ಅನಿಲ್ ಗೌರ್ (ನಿವೃತ್ತ) ಅವರು ಪೈಲಟ್ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಕಾರಣ ಅಥವಾ ಜಿ-ಫೋರ್ಸ್‌ನಿಂದಾಗಿ ಬ್ಲ್ಯಾಕ್‌ಔಟ್ ಆಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಈ ಘಟನೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿರಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
